This is a Historic Decision which could change how things will be done in the future.
The same attorneys in this case just filed fresh lawsuits against another tranche of the largest real estate brokerages in the Nation. Copycat lawsuits will certainly follow.
No one knows how quickly things will change, but things are certain to change. I’m no expert on this matter but I can feel it in my bones that this is a Titanic Shift that just happened. We will only know in the future if it is for the good or for bad.
This isn't about whether there is a need for Buyer Representation or not, but whether the Buyers will pay for these services directly out of their own pockets. When you are accustomed to having the luxury of someone paying for services on your behalf - especially large sums like commissions - it becomes a bitter pill to swallow if you have to pay your own now.
That IS THE BIG QUESTION. WHO WILL PAY FOR BUYER AGENT FEES?
